✨ Coaching + Community + Accountability ✨
Procrastination, it's not your fault…It goes beyond accountability. You're not "Lazy" or necessarily "unmotivated." And beating yourself up over it, isn't going to work.
It's essential to understand what's behind it. Let's talk about where to begin the process of getting clear and how to move forward.
Procrastination is an indicator. Similar to feelings. There's something behind it. Get curious.
If you’re struggling to make a decision, take action, finish a project, or find yourself making excuses, prioritizing something else instead, or avoiding that difficult conversation, consider getting radically honest with yourself.
Procrastination Reflection Practice:
Where is this coming from? What's behind this procrastination at this time?
It's not always about motivation.
In my experience and working with clients, I've noticed it's beyond the motivation. Clients often tell me that they're procrastinating on something they want to do, know they need to do, or want to get accomplished. It's not about being “Lazy.”
Procrastination can lead to feelings of overwhelm, stress, anxiety, and misalignment.
The mind keeps looping because there's no action. It's exhausting.
Getting out of these mind-looping thoughts is key.
I'll guide my client through the curiosity path to get clear on what's behind the procrastination. Then, we can review what makes the most sense for this client.
One of the ways I love supporting my clients is by strategizing and creating a specific action checklist tailored to their needs at that moment.
Here's one that I created for one of my coaching clients during a session.
Procrastination Evaluation Checklist:
1- Have I considered all the options?
2- Am I ready to make a decision?
3- What makes the most sense, in terms, of time, energy, and resources?
Agree or Disagree? Thoughts? Let me know if you find this insightful and helpful. Hit reply on this email or comment below. I'm here for you.
